A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Policy & Internet Conference 2026 at the Chau Chak Wing Museum in Sydney and online.
Over three days, we brought together delegates from 18 countries and territories across four continents—Australia, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, Canada, Brazil and Kenya—alongside representatives from government, industry and civil society.
Special thanks to our keynote speakers, Professors Gang Chen and David Nieborg, and to our conference partners and supporters: the School of Journalism and Communication at Peking University, Global Media and China, the University of Sydney China Studies Centre, and the Policy Studies Organization. We are also grateful to everyone who presented, chaired sessions and contributed to making the conference such a success.

Publish your research
We warmly encourage you to consider submitting your research to our conference partner journals:
Policy & Internet publishes interdisciplinary research on the social, political, economic and policy implications of the internet and digital technologies.
Global Media and China publishes research on media, communication and digital technologies in China, including China’s role in global media and communication.
Join the Digital Sovereignty Collective
At the conference, we also launched the Asia-Pacific Digital Sovereignty Collective, a new regional network supporting interdisciplinary and cross-national research, knowledge exchange and policy engagement on digital sovereignty.
We’d love to keep you involved as the Collective develops and we will include conference participants in our initial communications, but if you’d prefer not to receive updates, simply reply to this email and we’ll leave you off the list.
